Privacy policy

This site is a set of static pages with no accounts and no tracking. The policy below says exactly what that means in practice.

Last reviewed

1. Who publishes this site

The Evening Report is published by Stillwater Collective Media LLC at the domain stillwater-collective.com. The publisher is the party responsible for the pages you are reading and for the small amount of information described here. Questions about this policy can go to hello@stillwater-collective.com.

2. What the site stores in your browser

One item, and only after you act. When you dismiss the notice at the bottom of the screen, the site writes the key wgrCookieConsent with the value accepted into your browser's local storage. Its only purpose is to stop the notice reappearing on your next visit. It contains no identifier, no timestamp and nothing about you, it is never transmitted anywhere, and it stays on your device until you clear your browser data. Clearing it simply brings the notice back.

This is the same thing described in the notice itself: nothing is tracked, and your dismissal is kept locally in your browser so the notice does not return.

3. What the site does not store

There are no user accounts, no logins and no profiles, so there is nothing for us to hold. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no measurement pixels of any kind. We do not operate a newsletter, so we hold no mailing list. There are no contact forms, so no submitted data reaches us through the site. We do not collect payment details because nothing on the site is for sale, and we do not ask for your name, age, location or device details.

4. Server logs

Like any website, the pages are delivered by a hosting provider whose infrastructure keeps ordinary technical records of requests — an IP address, the requested path, a timestamp and a user-agent string — for security and reliability. We do not use those records to build profiles, we do not combine them with anything else, and we do not publish or sell them. Retention is governed by the hosting provider's own operational policy.

5. Fonts and other third-party requests

Typefaces on this site are requested from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's font servers when a page loads, and that request necessarily includes your IP address as any web request does. We receive nothing from it and set no cookie through it. Apart from those font requests there are no third-party scripts, embeds, players, comment systems, social widgets or trackers on any page.

6. Links out to Google Play

Every game on the ranking links to that game's own listing on Google Play. Once you follow such a link you are on a Google service, and Google's own privacy policy and terms apply to everything that happens there, including anything stored on your device by that page. We have no visibility into it, receive no report about it, and earn nothing from it. We are not affiliated with Google LLC.

7. Children

The site is a general-audience editorial publication written for adults who read about games. It is not directed at children, and because it collects no personal information at all, it does not knowingly hold any information about a child. If you believe something needs correcting, write to us and we will look at it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information a publisher holds about you, and to object to its processing. In our case the honest answer is that we hold no personal information about visitors, so an access request will come back empty and a deletion request has nothing to act on. The one item connected to your visit — the consent flag in section 2 — is on your own device and under your control at all times. You can still write to us and we will respond.

9. Changes to this policy

If the site's behaviour changes, this page changes with it and the review date at the top moves. Material changes are noted in the text rather than applied silently. We do not maintain a mailing list, so the page itself is the record.

10. Contact
